Apparently I make GIFs now

I’m 45, and I still overthink which GIF to send.

Which ones are too much for work? I tend to stay "boring". The internet both scares and amazes me, but I digress.

Tonight, though, I started making my own in ChatGPT. And it was nostalgic.

I asked for a turning globe. It was an acceptable globe but it felt blah.

That got me thinking about taste. How do I ask AI for a “cool” GIF if I can’t quite explain what I think is cool? I know when something catches my attention. Describing why is harder.

So I created a GIPHY account and uploaded my globe. I thought about making a collection, but that would require more thought than I was prepared to give it tonight. I winged it.

The tags were the first thing that caught my attention. You can tag emotions and vibes, which got me thinking about the feeling a GIF gives off. That seems useful for my ongoing search for the right work GIF. It's not as black and white as blogging back in the early 2000's used to be.

Next, I downloaded a video from Midjourney and asked ChatGPT to turn it into a GIF. Now I’m wondering how specific I can get with the instructions. Could I ask it to spin the TV head on the person on the right? That’s my next experiment.

I like this part of learning something new. You try one thing, and suddenly you have three more questions.

I miss chronicling things like I used to. What I’m learning, what I’m making, the little things that catch my attention. Tonight, that happened to be GIFs.

Looking forward to seeing who else is here. Fingers crossed for old-school blog vibes.
